Everything must be strictly
homemade and work of person entering same. Glass jars are to be
wiped down with a vinegar cloth and must have new lids. Each
individual must tag her own bag and on paper plates. Six inch pies
are acceptable in Class 5.
Individuals can exhibit two
entries in each lot, but can place only one.
Premiums: First place-$3.00, Second place-$2.00
All exhibits must remain in place until 5:00 p.m. and be removed
by 7:00 p.m. on Sunday. Exhibits left after that time will be at
the exhibitor’s risk.
To be conservative, and comply with suggestions from interested
parties, we will allow baked goods to be taken by the owner at
5:00 p.m. on judging day. A sample of each item entered will be
retained for display and public comparison and all ribbons will be
on display until the final hour.
Adult Premium Food Preservation Awards
To further stimulate the art of home food preservation,
Alltista Corporation is offering coupons toward the purchase of
Ball brand or Kerr brand home canning products and Ball Blue Book
or Kerr Canning Guides. The two best exhibits submitted by adults,
canned in Ball Jars and sealed with Ball two-piece vacuum caps, or
canned in Kerr jars and sealed with Kerr two-piece vacuum caps
shall be selected from each class indicated below to receive the
following:
- In fruits, vegetables, pickles,
foods and soft spreads, the first place winner shall receive two
(2) home canning product coupons, and one (1) canning guide.
- The second place winner in each
of the classes shall receive one (1) home canning product
coupon, and one (1) canning guide.
Youth (12 & Under) - Classes
are all the same as listed for adults. Just classify item as
“Youth” when entering.
